Slickfinger & The Hung - Titwinkle
Titwinkle - Extended Bio
"Your Third Favorite Band"
Titwinkle is an independent Canadian Funk Rock band based in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
Created by Alasdair Nigel Forsythe “Slickfinger” (Bass Guitar & Drums) and headed by Frontman, The Hung (Lead Vocals & Guitars).
The band’s influences are firmly rooted in Rock, Pop, Funk and Disco - with even some Metal undertones.
When Slick originally pitched the idea of the band to The Hung, he said, “Imagine if Lemmy and Rick James had a musical kid and the Bee Gees were the godparents and Benny Hill was the hilarious uncle. That’s Titwinkle.”
Musically, the band's foundation is built on Slickfinger’s melodic, percussive bass lines that lock in with his syncopated drumming. Layered on top of this, is The Hung’s textured guitar sounds (that have just enough distortion to justify the flying v guitars he plays).
Vocally, the Hung brings bright, resonant and sometimes dirty vocals to the songs based solely on the needs of the composition.
Lyrically the band can be defiant, serious and somber then immediately switch gears to something sassy, quirky and tongue and cheek.
This musical duo has a decades old friendship that began when they were band mates at sixteen years old. Each relentlessly pushes the other creatively. “No riff, solo or lick is more important than the song.”
That’s the Titwinkle mantra.
Titwinkle is currently planning the release of their forthcoming debut album, “The Hard, The Soft and The Funky.” The album is exactly what the title says it is, featuring classic rock power ballads, quirky dance numbers and a few heavy anthems, including the obligatory tale of making “deals with devil type folk.”
Leading the way is their very first single, “I Don’t Need You Now.” A mid tempo rock ballad - with classic 70’s vibes.
The song is described by The Hung as, “a journey of redemption for those who have had a relationship go bad and then realize moving forward has made them stronger.”
