Welcome to my page

This is my domain to share my thoughts and activities with you.

I have loved music and laughter for as long as I can remember and Titwinkle is my vehicle to express both those joys.

Laughter and humor were my first introduction to entertainment. My Parents would watch comedy greats Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Castello and Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. As I grew older I discovered great British humor such as the Two Ronnies, Benny Hill and the great, Monty Python. Living in Canada, British Humor was on the TV but we also had great home grown talent like SCTV, Bizarre and Trailer Park Boys and too many others to mention. Slick and I bonded over comedy and music and you will see each of those influences in what we create. We both agree that “time on this planet is too short,” not to try and enjoy every minute you can. So to that end, humor is a part of the band and some of our songs.

When I was a kid, music was different. I have already written a small blurb on how I first got mesmerized by music on our blog page called “What do Kiss and ABBA Have in Common.” If you haven't read it I can't recommend it enough (after all I wrote it).

Music is very powerful for me, it really is like food (small plug for food for rock my video series). What I mean is music can heal you, nourish you, sustain you, make you feel like you were younger and time stamp important events in your life. When I was younger, everyone belonged to a musical clan and that music would be yours and no other music was allowed to enter your system. We were young and we were broke - lol - so we really didn't have a choice. We needed to pick a genre we liked and stick with it. We couldn't afford to try all genres, that would be too risky after all. What if I bought an album or later a tape that I didn't like? It took a long time to get that money so you stuck with your genre and my genre was rock, hard and melodic rock. When I seriously got into music the first bands I coveted were Triumph, The Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Ratt and Dokken.

I really liked mid paced ballad style rock songs like “Magic Power,” by Triumph and “No One Like You,” by The Scorpions. I particularly like when a song goes soft and then heavy. A good build up to some heavy distorted guitars are magic to my ears. If you listen to our music you will see this type of musical dynamic in quite a few of our songs. I would suggest you pay attention to “I Don't Need You Now” (our first single) where there is a lot of back and forth between clean and distorted guitars and a very interesting dynamic between the bass melody and guitar melody in the verses.

My intention is to inform you of who I am as a person and a musician. I plan on writing down my thoughts and history to share with you often and as candidly as possible.

Thank You for reading my introduction.
